Lovely b&b, with welcoming hosts, nice clean and comfortable rooms. We were on our way down to Cornwall and wanted to break the trip and visit Stonehenge. Lyn and Colin were that perfect mix of welcoming and chatty, but left you to yourselves as well. They gave us a great recommendation for a lovely pub meal in the village and lots of helpful hints for places to see on our trip down south. Would definitely recommend and well located for Stonehenge plus lots of day trips around Wiltshire.

Very welcoming and helpful, beautifully decorated comfortable rooms, convenient for Stonehengs, Longleat, Stourhead and other places of interest and a good recommendation from the owners for dinner at a local inn. Although close to the A303, the soundproofing was such that we were unaware of the traffic. Altogether a very pleasant overnight stay and we would have been happy to stay longer.

Friendly, efficient and very helpful staff. A comfortable and spacious room furnished, maintained and serviced to a high standard. Excellent breakfast served until 9.00 am Good private parking in the house grounds Conveniently located for Longleat, Salisbury and Stonehenge.

Rooms are on the second floor - quite a climb for us old 'uns.

Made to feel extremely welcome. Room was new and very clean. Breakfast was excellent. Would certainly stay again, probably for 2 nights next time to go to Stourhead National Trust, Longleat and Stonehenge.

Our stay at the Old Rectory Chicklade, was everything we hoped it would be, and more! Lynda and Colin were so welcoming, and spent time going through maps and making suggestions of places to visit which fell in with our interests. I have never slept so well in a bed away from home, and although we were only there for a short while, linen was changed after our second night. Breakfast was a feast to look forward to, and really set us up for the day. We will definately return if we stay in that area again.

Helpful and friendly owners who provided a home from home, knew area very well and able to recommend various places to visit prepared to lend local books and literature. Do not provide evening meals but knew good local pubs that provided good value for money evening meals, great breakfast was provided using local produce, conveinent location for visiting Dorset, Somerset and Wiltshire.

The welcome was warm and the owners knew alot about the surrounding area, our room was spotlessly clean and the decor really nice. when we first arrived we thought the road noise would be a problem particularly as it was a Friday night and main route to the west. but it proved to be the opposite, no problems at all. The breakfast was really good too, although I didn't eat alot my partner eat the full english and said it was really tasty plenty of it without being too much, the selection of things on offer was pleniful and toast in abundance. You couldn't fault the whole experience.............thank you

My wife and I stayed here with our two young children prior to visiting Longleat. The family room was beautifully decorated, spacious and quiet, the children loved having their 'own' room and the small fridge was very handy for their drinks and snacks too! Breakfast was fantastic and the owners Colin and Lynda couldn't have made us feel more welcome, in fact we have booked to stay next month when we make a trip to Wookey Hole.

The Old Rectory is very comfortable and Lynda and Colin were very hospitable. They really welcomed us and helped us to have a relaxing stay. The room was cosy and we had everything we needed. Breakfast was delicious and well cooked and helped to set us up for our day at Longleat. I now have to make homemade Muesli because Ken enjoyed it so much. Good job I have a recipe. Teresa

Great welcome, very comfortable bed in a beautifully appointed bedroom en suite. For breakfast I had Lynda's homemade muesli followed by cheese and leek sausages, (as I am vegetarian,) local free range eggs and vine tomatoes, all well cooked and delicious. A very good start to the day and I would definitely stay at The Old Rectory again.
